Absalom Ball (1847-1906) and his family were living in Little Bay in 1888 and 1889.
Sources Found His wife Mary Frances Balls/Ball died there in December 1888 (UC burials)
His son Samuel Ball, named after his grandfather, was in a Church of England play there in December 1889 (TS, Dec 21, 1889)
Sources Sought According to a MyHeritage page Mr. Ball was born and died in Botwood but moved to Little Bay from Tilt Cove where he was married in 1877. They also mention a 1882 residence listing. I should confirm these references with original documents. Placing him in ’82 would help.
Further references are required to expand his stay as the two I have are close together. Children’s birth records could help with that.
His presence at Tilt Cove indicates he was mining before Little Bay’s start in 1878. It’d be nice to see if he worked under the Germans.
