In August of 1883 Sergeant Wells suspected a man named Black Barbour of running a sheeban house (Wells, P.18).

I can check the voter’s list for other references to the last name but that first name is probably a nickname making him hard to identify properly. I should do some searches in the newspaper archives and The Rooms site to see if I get any matches for Black Barbour.
